New Holleys claim to have a blowout proof powervalve design.  Can you use the new PV in an older carb?

I dont think its a case of bullet proof power valves, its more a case of a safety cut out system in the newer carbies that stops the PV being damaged.
Gotta love a '69

OK.... spare  powervalve or new carb.    Thanks for advice.

In 93 I think all holleys were made with the PV blow out feature. If you don't know then grab an extra PV plus they shouldn't blow that often. If so you need to find the cause....timing etc.

Here's what you need. quick, easy, cheap fix. i have used this kit in many MoPar OEM Holley's without any blow-out issues:

Thanks I,ll try one.

No problem. if your original 4160 is in good condition, there's no need to toss it & go out spending $300+ for a new one.  ;)
