After 13 months of removing rust, lots of body filler, and welding in new skins, patches, grinding, sanding more grinding and more welding, priming, sanding and painting my 68 is finally home..........  It was an experience and for what it's worth those stupid car TV shows are a joke.  Seven days my rear end!

If any one wants to know.  Miller Brothers Hot Rod Barn in North Wilkesboro, NC did the work.  I recommend them.

Very nice!   :2thumbs: What tires are you using?
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Congrats on bringing her home!  Great work and pictures!  Like others said, more pictures please. :2thumbs:

We are halfway through our reassembly after paint and agree that the cars done In one to 2 weeks on TV will not have the details we all take pride in!  Growing up in Maine the twin to your car (except the white stripe was black) was for sale while I was in HS, parents said NO WAY!   :slap: :smilielol:

Thanks everyone for the compliments.  Been dealing with 2nd Gen Chargers since 1970/71 and I will never get tired of them.  The passion only grows.  Here's a few more pre-pics.  The car is not an R/T but it looks so damn good with the stripe on it I decided to keep it from the last time it was painted but not a decal this time.  I have caught flak from some people for it but I don't care.  It's just looks so good and it's my car   :nana:

Rear tires....  275/60R15  Front 235/60R15.  I modeled it after a friend's 69 SE R/T Charger and I liked it so much I used the same tires.  It handles nicely and I like the 15" so much better than the 14"

What backspacing on the rims?

mikeydf14

To be honest I have no idea on the back spacing. I know the rims are 8" on the rear and 7" on the front.  Hope that helps.

Looks great!!!

Don't worry about the stripe, I plan on adding the stripe to my car come paint time, and if anyone gives me gruff about it, well then we can line them up, and see who's car is more R/T at the end of the quarter mile.   :D
JUNKTRAVELER: all I've seen in this thread is a bunch of bullies and 3 guys that actually give a crap.
