Where would i put the cutouts in the exhaust system right after header or ?  thank  you  tom

tan top

seen them at various  places up & down the exhaust ! & you prolly will get a few different answers!!   but  ,  bolt or weld  directly after the header collector  flange is best  :yesnod: :Twocents:  .................... :popcrn:

Tom, it just depends on where you have the room to make them fit (variables like pipe size, solenoid size, dimensions of the cutout, floorpans, and all the angles involved). The welder will have to make the decision within the useable space.  :yesnod:

On my Road Runner they are about 2 feet behind the collector and two feet in front of the muffler. It is perfectly placed and there was really no way to move them forward or back. I wanted them more forward, but it was as though Mopar knew to leave the perfect space for the cutout 42 years later.

Here's a picture to give you an idea. TTI stainless exhaust, 3 inch diameter, used Dougs stainless cutout and complete kit (stainless, with the scissor design, not the butterfly). The Dougs is the new version with an ultra small solenoid and motor. The fit was perfect, but only in that spot.

68x426 looks good do you have a pic from farther back towards the axle more? so you can see more detail of the motor and piping.

No other pics at the moment. I tried to just stick the camera under the car and none turned out worth while. I've got a oil change due real soon and I'll take some more from better angles.

For reference, I used Dougs (available everywhere) and they are great. It is their new improved version with a dramatically reduced size. The exhaust guy has put in hundreds of types of units and thought these were the best quality he'd ever worked with: http://www.dougsheaders.com/prod/new/details.aspx?ID=137

charger2fast4u, I tried for more pics but they were all poor. Not easy to do close-ups on concrete.  :'(

At some point, if the car is up on a rack, I'll try again.
