An interior guy stopped out the other day at the shop where I have my car and was gave me a quote for the headliner install.  He said 320.00 bucks, this is in a 68 Charger.  The original is not in there and the bows are all there.  Sounds real high to me, what have you guys been paying lately?

Thanks,

Ryan

Man I'm in the wrong business.
i was quoted $120.00(I think) back in 2001 for my 72 Charger, and he would come to my garage to do it. I ended up doing it myself ::), one of my less than perfect jobs.

I went through this this past summer.  I got quotes over the phone of $150-$400, IIRC.  Went to the $150 guy & after looking at it, he said no way could he do it for that price & he actually didn't want to do it as he wasn't confident he could achieve good results.  He guessed it would take  him 8-10 hours to do.
Went to another place and the good news was that he was very familiar w/ them & said it would only take about 5 hours.  The bad news - his shop charges $80/hr! :o  I gather that if you know one of the installers, they'd 'do it on the side' for considerably less.
I ended up doing it myself and I'm not that pleased w/ the results.
The good news is that it wasn't the horror stories that I've heard (the only bad part was that it was like 100 °+ degrees in the car interior) and working in short intervals (due to the heat), I think I probably had less than 8 hours invested.
I guess the key is to find the right person to do it.

I should mention that the $100 it cost me included removal of the old but, I removed and reinstalled all the interior trim pieces. I can't see how a pro could take 5 or 8 hours to do that job.

I should clarify that I had the old headliner out and the new one all ready. That price was for installation of headliner only, I was going to install all the trim pieces.

The going price for everything done by a shop here starts at $250.00, My friend is doing my charger for $200.00 and he's making custom sail panels over with R/T emblems on them.
