So i think I want hood pins for my black 60 charger. I want the hood pin kit with cables. How long should the cables be for the right look? I noticed alot of different lengths available.

Ryan,
These are the ones I bought with 23" cables for my '69 Charger. They haven't been mounted yet so I cant say that they are the correct ones for sure. They're the ones recommended on the website. I found this company on the Cuda/Challenger board. Nice stuff/complete kit for $36.

( woops, I think now is even cheaper LOL due the free shipping )

the right ones are those, but with Chromed pin instead SS... the REAL RIGHT ONES ( chromed pin ) are in $70 rate at Dales

As far I remember the right ones were 21" BUT replacements ( already in those years ) were made in 23"... I got that info somewhere but dunno remember where.

I've been giving hood pins some serious thought after my hood flew up. My hood latches are in great shape and work properly (these didn't fail when the hood took flight). My car didn't come with them from the factory and I'm not inclined to drill holes in my new AMD hood. What to do.....what to do?

I wasn't to mount them when I though my hood was VIRGINAL!!! but noticed did came with FACTORY BONDO ( lot of them ) probably some problem at assembly line hood lot so decided to put them on.

I feel you on not wanting to mess up your new hood, but what guy doesn't want to drill into virgin territory?  :slap: :D :nana: :smilielol:

On a serious note, flying hoods suck.

My Charger has hood pins, but previous owners + beer + friends + 150 mph speedometers = airborne hoods.

And I'm not talking about criminals taking commuter jets here...

Just remember folks, hood pins don't do jack when you forget to use them, or conversely are too drunk to put them back in after showing off your engine.

Not speaking from my own experience, but let's just say thanks to one of the previous owners my hood isn't original.  :pity: :'(

I've got four of them about 6" back from the front of the hood and yes make sure the pins are in before you get on the road.
