Summit sure can suck

Summit sure can suck. Heads up. Case of false advertising with their Beat-A-Price Guarantee.

They won't sell for the same price, even when they have advertised as such. I found a high ticket item that a competitor has priced at what turns out to be below Summit's cost. Summit won't lower the price.  :flame:

We're confident our prices are the lowest. We're so confident, we offer the Beat-a-Price guarantee: We'll beat any advertised price on an in-stock product, with proof of the advertised price, if the part is in stock at the advertised location. Call 1-800-230-3030 and speak with a salesperson to help complete your order.

This policy does not apply to typographical errors, products in an online auction, refurbished or used products from a second-hand seller, or a competitor's price that results from a price match. If the product meets the above criteria, the competitor's price will be beat. Guaranteed
!

Bullshit.

The item is new, not an error, in stock, etc etc. Summit won't match. I'm not going to bother to sue, I'll just take the business to the competitor. And I told them and it doesn't matter (even after dropping another $700 order on them). The free market still works, so if they want to live and die with pricing, instead of service and integrity, ok then, my money will go elsewhere. :nana:

Summit still one of the overall best parts dealers around. Most of the time I can't find a better price, but not always.

I'm not sure why they would advertise that deal if they won't honor it!!! but it will take a lot more than that to keep me away.

Now that's funny! Thank you for cracking me up.

They remain my go-to vendor choice, but they have come down a big notch, that's all I'm saying. :icon_smile_blackeye:

It seems odd that Summit would not honor their low price guarantee.  Could be the order taker.  I've had good luck with them.  Low price, fast delivery, service after the sale----they exchanged a flywheel for me and didn't charge a restocking fee or new delivery charge.  I did have top pay to get the one I had incorrectly ordered  back to them.  But I was happy.  Also, since I'm in TN, the McDonough, GA usually has what I want and their's no sales tax.  Unfortunately, I have a feeling internet tax is coming pretty soon.

I have bought allot of stuff from Summit, never had any problems.. I have also bought from Jegs, Mancini and a couple of other smaller specialised stores...

The ones I have had problems with are the Bastrrrrrds at USPS.. Why the hell does it seem to be so difficult to send a package from A to B :brickwall: The last two of my packages have been circling the globe back and forth.. Read the Fkn address on the package and deliver it there -How hard can that be??? :RantExplode:

Jegs isn't much better, I ordered Eddy Victor heads online that they had priced for about $130 each. A couple of days later they called me and said there was a price change and I had to pay $600 something each or cancel my order. Now I know the $130 price was an error but they could have at least said sorry, or gave me a discount.

Summit tried to help with a fuel pump for my 6 pack, even sent me the correct one unknown to both of us at the time, I called with questions about the output line not matching my steel fuel line. (Thanks to Maxwellwedge for letting me know it takes a brass adapter to be/work correctly) They sent me to Carter and they did not know, so Summit said send it back and they paid shipping also. When I called about them "price beating" Mancini on a cam they would not do it because Mancini was "out of stock" at the time. What bugs me is that they only have 3 pages of Mopar stuff and we all know they could have 20 pages listed. Jegs had just the new Mopar dist. where Summit sold the whole "kit" I needed and seems more Mopar knowledgeable to me the few times I called. Mancini and Marsh Performance are my favorites.  :2thumbs:
