1968 R/T california car - selling have title but not registered so selling as parts - have ca title - not matching numbers - mag engine 440 was bought later - everything is there - no rust - new vinyl - new windshield ready to go in the box - factory air - new carpet - what do you guys think again it is a project car but is pretty much just put the thing together now.

Selling a 1968 dodge charger r/t mag 440 project car - ca car have pink slip not registered selling as parts.  85% complete what is a good price in today's market?   Is 3200 asking for too little?  What do you think it is worth?  No rust - Not running basically needs to be put together it is all there.

Dans 68

Well, first off you would need to post some photos, but I think $3,200 is a low price. With most of the parts there, albeit not numbers matching but rust free, at least $5k to $6k. Post some photos of the car, showing details, and we can get you a better ballpark number.

I would agree on the low price. Someone with the dough will jump on it  :yesnod:

the market is crap right now but I agree that the car is still worth more than 3,200 if its complete and rust free. I would say about 6K in this market give or take a grand depending on the actual condition of the car.

So if I'm reading you right you're saying you've got a mostly complete 68 R/T that's in decent shape with a title that you're thinking about parting out? Why would you part it out? The logic of parting out a Charger because it's not registered makes absolutely no sense and I have to think you're smarter than that so I'm going to assume this is a clandestine for sale ad coupled with a veiled threat to chop it up if it doesn't sell asap. That or the laws in California are so completely retarded that you are basically forced to part it out without a registration; which is entirely possible knowing how things work in Cali. Pardon my cynicism but my BS meter is pegged right now so my tolerance level for more is at an all time low.

That said, I will gladly hand you $3,200 tomorrow for a mostly complete, no-rust 68 R/T with a clear title after I see some pics. I got my tax return already and the money is in the bank. Please let me know.

sound5262

will you send pics of the car? inside and out. thanks

snooter

usually $5k for an apart RT but all complete parts with non matching #'s...matching #'s add a few thousand..but who knows...market is crap and personally my view is who gives a rats ass and sell it for whatever you can get...i just picked up a 1971 hodaka super rat for $425bux and some fool paid $5600 for a restored rat on ebay...get whatever you can get..when i seen $5k asking for a retsored honda trail Z50 i knew the fools ere back in the cycle market..cycles sell..muscle cars not so much right now

ps: if nothing else sell the parts on ebay as the parts are worth more then the car as a whole nowdays..hell buy a crate hemi and complete the car..idiots will still pay dearly for a cloned hemi

Wow thanks for the responses.  The title is sitting unregisterd with a the sales receipts my state MN wants to bond it to get a new MN title CA won't title it because I don't live there.  So there is a title but it fell off the books.   That is why I am selling it as parts/project as is where is.  Does this drop the value?   I am out of a job right now and cars up here just aren't moving so well and running cars are a dime a dozen.

I can't figure out how to get pictures i

http://picresize.com/ <----- right click the link and open in new window. Browse your pic, click on Quick Resize and try them at 75% smaller. See how that works.

You can label your sale any way you want but just because you aren't able to get the car registered doesn't mean no one else can. If anyone actually parts this car out their nuts should be squeezed in a bench vise.

I guess I am not following the title problem. You have a California title for the car but Minnesota wants you to bond it. Has the title been signed over to some previous buyer other than you that never updated it? I can't see how Minnesota wouldn't except the California title as is unless there is a gap in ownership somewhere.

No gaps in ownership all sales receipts are there - I still cannot upload pictures keep getting error

So what do you actually have sales receipts for? Has the car been sold to multiple different owners after the one listed on the title? If you can get that resolved you would have a much easier time selling it and probably get more out of the car.

Black Charger

The B.S. detector is going off on this one. Bull made a legit offer for the car, and so far, no dice. I hope to be proven wrong in this situation.

Ryan

I emailed the guy, he said he had a buyer but was just curious if the 3,200 was too low.

I concur with Black Charger.....could you at least post the vin?...Minus the sequential numbers of course.....Then something can be determined....I can't see hacking apart an R/T car just because of a title issue....That can be remedied.  There are lots of people here that would legitimately be interested in this car, and would offer you a fair price....or at least tell you what you can get out of it.  So....AT LEAST.....post the vin so we can decode it!!

R/T 1968FAN

The car has been sold.  Thank you for everybodies help.
