What were the manufacture/model # of this carb? Also, what was the specs of the stock 4 barrel carb for this year(cfm, etc)? I am thinking of switching up to a 4 barrel, so I just need a little bit of background info. Any help appreciated! al

I think the 2bbl was a Holley.

4bbl for a 1973 400 magnum Federal  would be a Carter Thermoquad #6321 .  Generally considered to flow 850CFM.

thanx for the quick reply! Would like to find a blow up parts drawing for the 2 barrel, to figure out what I am doing.
I might get a 4 barrel carb, but I understand one must match up motor to cfm's required. Al

what I found is the 2bbls it should be a Holey 2210

cfms matched ? well stock TQ carbs for BB were rated 850 cfms, and SB TQs on 800s

if you think earliers factory BBs with AVS/AFB were rated at 600 or 650 cfms... who is right ? factory ? or techs ?... and why on same displacement engines the CFM ratio was drastically changed... I'm not a tech, just wondering

maybe some diff on CFMs it could be TQs are sequential bores for a while earliers are opened at the same time ? dunno if does have some relation really

BTW 4 or 2 bbls carb is not the only diff between 4 or 2 bbls engines... Cam, HiPo manifold exhaust and I think windage tray are some of the differences too
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

Holley Model 2210. 1973 400cuin.2bb Federal  Car would be  # R-6454-A.

A carb overhual kit will come with a exploded diagram.

Don't worry.  @bbl are very simple to rebuild.  I have done several 318 2bbl and they all were so easy it was silly.  The exploded diagram helps, but the FSM is absolutely indispensable.  It helps so much to adjust it.  IIRC it uses drill bits to set proper heights and adjustments.  Very good info in them.
