Coupler not fully seated?

So, I got it all back together; but it doesn't look like it's fully seated.  The steering column is back in place.

No! It goes down and the keeper roll pin holds it to the steering box input shaft. (The roll pin fits to that notch in the shaft) you adjust the column down till you just see a small hole in the steering shaft clearing the rubber coupler seal. That sets the depth of the little "shoes" inside the coupler to "center" of the coupler. You must loosen the column back up before moving the coupler down as you could break the plastic tabs that hold the bottom and top of the steering shaft together! (The collapsible column feature) Be careful and do a search here there is all the info and photos you need.

I didn't think so, but I couldn't get the coupler any further down.  Makes sense about the Pin too, mine wasn't there when I removed everything, nor were the shoes; those were fun to get back in the coupler with the spring!  I'll have to work on it tomorrow.  Thanks!

If the coupler won't slide down any further, you may have to loosen the bolts that hold the steering column in place, so that it can slide down as well.

I assume you have the master spline lined up.

Correct there is a area on the shaft and coupler that are void of splines that mate to set orientation of the steering wheel and steering box. The coupler will not just slide down, it is a snug fit and must be straight to the shaft to get started.

That'd be my problem.  Just not paying attention again...  Thanks for the enlightenment
