Hi guys.  Could someone please post a few pictures of the drum brakes on the back of a 69 Charger.  I took mine apart, both sides of course and got everything cleaned up to run some new lines and now I'm having problems remembering where everything goes exactly.  Also pictures of the bar that goes between the 2 shoes would be nice.  I'd like to see the contours of that piece and the emergency brake slot.

Thanks guys.  Right now I'm trying to decide exactly how to put the guide for the e-brake cable back on.

Yes I should have taken a picture or 2, but I got a little excited to get it done and on the road.  I haven't driven it much and would like to put miles on it before the snow flies.

Thanks again.

10" or 11"? Front discs or drums all around?

I sent you an email with a pic of the rear brakes from the 1969 Mopar Parts Catalog......I hope this helps.

They are 10".  The car used to have drums all around.  Years ago I swapped in the spindles and calipers from a 1982 5th avenue.

If that ebay link takes me to the shop manual.  I have it on cd.  I'd like a larger colour picture if possible.

I'll check my email now, thanks.

69, 10" - rear pics. These are original shoes that have never been removed.

Very nice thanks alot.  I was thinking that the guide for the e-brack cable was held on by the primary spring but wasn't totally sure.

Once I figure out how to upload pics(last time I tried the file was too large?) I'll show you the Raybestos Kit that I got.  I'm sure its not a very complete kit, rather disappointing.

Okay guys I bought everything I could think of brand new for my rear brakes.  I'll find the part numbers if anyone wants.  It's on the raybestos site anyhow.  Except the anti-rattle spring for the strut bar.  It's in the garage, I'll post that part number soon.  It's 10:30pm, so I don't want to get distracted out there right now.

New drums, springs, wheel cylinders, anti-rattle spring, steel lines along the differential.  Star adjusting screw, the overload cable and the slider it goes on, it's beautifull.

BUT my brakes are locking up.  I almost think it's all 4.  New rotors and pads on the front (83 5th Avenue).  My E-brake cables are installed in the back  but only tied up to the frame at the moment while the front one is soaking to get loosened up.

Now the manual suggested a few things such as the brake booster, I've had it rebuilt in the past by Monarch Rebuilders.  I think they are in Toronto.  It was a long time ago.  Could be the check valve on the booster?  Or the linkage or pivot point for the brake pedal?

What do you think fella's.

Charger 1968 and 1969, Anyone nows if all rear drumbrakes where 10 inch?
How do you tell the difference between both?

Saw another thread, probably 10 inch...

Seriously it was as simple as pulling out the tape measure.  I think one of the old drums may even have had a number on them.  A discard diameter or something.

I know what I got, but I needed the E brake lever..
I finally installed it, and seems that the drumbrake won't fit anymore.
Wondering if there where bigger or different e-brake levers? (11 inch on Chargers)

That's why  :2thumbs:
