In October of '67 my dad ordered a '68 Charger 383/727 combo that was turqoise with a white interior and top. We would like to find the car if we can. We do know that we have the certicard which as we all know will have the vin #, but just have not been able to locate it after my dads passing in 2008. The last we saw of the car was in the 90's we found it for sale in north Texas I believe close to Denton(?) with a newer paint job that was close to the original color(door jams were not painted). It had a 440 transplant with what I remember to be centerline wheels on it. As soon as we can find the certicard I'll repost message with vin #. But in the mean time does this car sound familiar to anyone? We still have the original turqoise steel wheels and dog dish caps in storage (that only have about 30 miles on them). My brother and I sure would like to find this car again!

Go to your town hall and look up your tax records and the VIN may be listed.  It is in my town.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Here's an update.  Went down to the DMV, and all I got was the third degree-"well why do you want to know?"  It was almost like I was an honest thief if there is such a thing.  Anyway I couldn't get anyone to help me so here is the vin # XP29H8D186765.  Spread the word y'all.

Did you show them any kind of paperwork showing your family's name & the VIN, like the registration?

Try Wayne Wooten at the Dodge Charger Registry. http://www.dodgechargerregistry.com/ He was able to tell me that my Dad's 68 Charger is still alive. So far we have not been able to get the current owner to respond back ro us.
