360 heads??

 do 340X heads have an advantage over stock 360 heads. All I plan on doing is a manifold, headers and possibly a stronger cam. The car is a 4spd. with 323 gears

the later 88-92 308 swirl castings make more power then the X heads will & are cheaper to buy

If you have to rebuild a set of castings, the "308"'s would be the "best" starting point.
That said,
The only advantage to the 308 head is the better Exhaust Port when comparing "apples to apples" for useable power below 5,000 rpm.
