What time (Central time) Does the Daytona 500 actually start ?

Everything I find says 12pm eastern, which would be 11 am Central...

But don't they usually sit around and BS for an hour or so before anything actually

happens?

What I really want to know is what time do they actually say:


"Gentlemen!"....

"Crank your junk!"

Thanks NH. Last year we  :2thumbs: had my snacks and pizza all eaten before the race actually started because the TV listing showed coverage start time, not race time. Doing it right this year.
