Hey guys -

I'm going to throw my hat in the ring and run the One Lap of America in 2010 with the Charger. It runs from April 30-May 8 and is supposed to be a pretty hairy ordeal. Just wondering if any other Charger members might want to jump on board with their cars?

Should be fun...

Man, I'd love to do something like that, but I know I'll have tons of yardwork that week.  ::)

Seriously though, I'd be interested if I can get a car together & have it be reliable enough to run it. Getting a week or so off work would be easy.

From what I've heard this is a pretty serious event. Run all day, hit a track, compete and run again... supposedly it's very taxing on both man and machine and a true endurance competition. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with it before?

The Charger should be fine, but I think I'll be upgrading some things. Shocks, maybe a lighter set of wheels and possibly putting a cage in as well. Dunno  :shruggy:

Good luck Mike...  :2thumbs:

You should talk to Rick about that.   He did it a bunch of times.  Not sure if he'd do it again... not that I've asked.   I know he has some front end and trans upgrades for the Brick planned but I don't really think he's got any plans for the one lap... but from what I've heard it's an adventure.   :coolgleamA:

If you take a ride up this way stop by... probably a good time to be had listening to stories over lunch at the Alexis.

Here's one of Rick's old articles from the 90's.  http://www.allpar.com/history/mopar/lapping-valiant.html

Mike, I'm building a 95' Lightning extra cab clone right now with a stroker motor. I plan to take it down to lower 48 states for something worth while like road race challenge like this.
Good luck Mike.   :2thumbs:
