Clutch pedal problem question

Car is a 72 Rallye, 440/4 speed.

Got in the car the other day, and pushed the clutch in to start it.  Pedal made a funny noise and stayed on the floor. I can pull it back up manually, but it goes to the floor with very little pressure.  I do not think the clutch is engaging, I cannot put the car in gear.

Looked at the manual and the linkage -- overcenter spring and z bar -- and everything LOOKS ok but I'm a newbie, every other car I own has a hydraulic.

I read that the internal clutch springs provide the force to push the pedal back most of the way and the overcenter spring just does the rest? So it sounds like I have an issue with the pressure plate?

Is it properly adjusted at the input to the clutch fork?

You probably broke a lever pivot bolt in the pressure plate.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
