No offense buy why would you think you'd get something for free, especially a Hemi? In my experience I have to work hard to get something I want.

That's funny, that sale has been going on for months.  David Hakim and Mancini's brought it up a few months back on Moparts.  This is not recent.  Something smells fishy.

ok ok my uncle bought this huge warehouse full of old MoPar stuff like 2 years ago for his business and there were about 40-50 engines in there, 2 of them being complete 426 Hemis... a '68 and a '70 (along with a 340 six pack, a 416 Wedge (), and numerous 440s...all complete/running...) anyway we got to talking cars and i mentioned the '77 and joked "yeah a Hemi would be nice for it!" well he said "that could be done let me talk to some people" i took it as a joke but i just recieved an email from him today saying that the '68 is ALL MINE!! i just have to pay for shipping!!!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas everybody!!!

Actually David was showing some of the really interesting experimental engines that they were showing.  It is NOT a personal collection, just a collection of engine parts from one of Ma Mopars external engineering facilities.

i knew that HEMI deal was never going to happen but i didnt say anything just to be nice . what i do not understand is how this was his uncles stuff but some how his boss is selling it

While I wouldn't have said anything until I had it in MY POSESSION, I understand as we've ALL been round the block with the "ever ellusive 426 Hemi at Granny's in the barn" back in HS....I had an idea there was gonna be a "Stipulation" with this deal, but none the less, Twas fun to dream for a few minutes...

Lizey, take this for what you paid for it, but I would shy away from mentioning anything about a 426 Hemi until I actually had it in my posession....

Go easy he's going off what he was told! I posted a topic on that sale months ago but had no idea he had a connection to it. There is some very rare/interesting stuff in there.

all my information i had on all of this is what i was told my uncle didnt know the stuff was allready being sold he had to TALK to his boss (i.e. the guy in charge off that sale) so honestly he didnt even know if he could get it for me

haha yes ive heard but in the end this all doesnt concern me too much because now its going to go to someone who is going to actually use it for something versus me leaving it in my barn for 10 years
