The Ghoul

hi,
my names kevin, I'm an old member of another forum that i guess went under? I see allot of names here that I recognize.
a little about me, I’m 23, live just outside of Detroit. I 'cut my teeth' automotivly by playing with Chevy 350's and 3rd gen firebirds. I am butt deep in a 73 charger resto and customization. the pics below are of my charger when i first got it, how it sits now (waiting for sheet metal work) and a pic of 2000 Subaru impreza daily driver.... I’m a bit of an automotive renaissance man.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Greetings. I don't remember you from the other site, so I'm assuming you didn't post too much about wing cars.

Oh wait I read more than that over here, that is just on other sites that I tend to be picky.

So what are your plans for the 73. What kind of upgrades are you thinking of doing? I see that you say your going to customize it, just interior, or exterior as well?

Welcome back.  Nice Charger.  The Scooby Doo is pretty nice, too.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

I will give you a call after I'm feeling better [getting wisdom teeth extracted the 9th]
but I am all about helping you out again!
School Isn’t going the best, I’m going to make a tactical retreat to community collage for a few semesters until my math and physics is done. So it looks like I may be very available to help you out more often.

Its going to be a bit of every thing.

exterior:
im going to shave the marker lights, side view mirrors, door handles, also shave the bolt heads on the bumpers. Im keeping all the chrome. Nothing too fancy on the paint job just sublime green maybe with pearl ghost flames... its got to be something easy because I’m going to be painting it. The hood, front fenders, and trunk are going to be fiberglass.

Interior:
modern racing buckets in the front the stock rear seat roll cage. I am going to be taking a note from the ricer hand book and priming and sanding the poo out of the interior plastics to give it the slick smooth look, the window switches are going to be upgraded to modern ones to flow a bit better with the modern look.. I think I may play with hiding the switches under the cloth door panels. The dash is going to be treated to an autometer gauge package and the dash is going to bee smoothed as much as possible.

drive train
eventually N/A 440 tied to a T-56 manual tranny and a decent rear end (haven’t thought that far ahead)

suspension
stiffer rate torsion bars in front
fiber glass rear leafs
polly bushings all around
manual steering box (cut down on plumbing)
re-enforced K member

braking
undecided definitely disks all the way around not sure what company and what package to go with.

what’s basically going to happen is I’m going to do all the suspension work, body, interior and just get the 400 running and throw the automatic in it untill I have the $$ to do those right.

The general idea is to tie in the G-ride concept with traditional hot rodder / low rider tricks to produce a car that will be low, mean very clean and drive just as good as it looks.   Also just a dash of ricer to make the interior look as slick and clean as the rest.
And if this wasn’t a tall enough order I am going to attempt to hide as much of the engine bay spaghetti as possible, and patch over all non essential firewall components to clean up the engine compartment.
