New electical Dash problem (Gauges)

OK here we go again a new one. Today I took the car out for a ride and a few times I noticed Fuel-Temp-Oil gauge all 3 needles go all the way to the right simultaneously. Then it would return slowly. What is this about. It happened 2 or 3 times.

fairly "normal" for the stock voltage limiter on the back of the dash....it overheats, spikes the gauges, then resets.
