I have some US wheel chrome reverse and have not measured the backspace yet. How much do I need to fit these tires underneath and not look like Joe Dirt?

Assuming this is for your '69, 4.25 or 4.5 rear spacing will work for this and center them decently in the wheel wells. This will be what is most commonly is found in a 15x8 wheel. You can go up to 5" with with a 275 on an 8" wheel, why bother.

I have 4,5 backspace on 10 inch rims and 295/50 s.

IMO 3,5 is ok on 8´s  :Twocents:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

Thanks. This had more to do with the weld draglites I plan on getting.

suntech  are your springs moved in? I love the deep dish draglites and some 10 inch rims should look killer. That still would have the above tire but i could go bigger later on.

My Bro has 15x10 with 5" backspace and has 275/60 tires mounted on those. It fits fine and looks decent. No suspensionmods a tall, everything is in its original locatiopn. I'd say the 10" rim is a tad wide for a 275 though.

Ok, I ordered some Summit Quick 8's in 15x7 with 4 inch backspace & 15X8 with 4.5 backspace. The picture in the catalog pales to the ones on line. The cost difference will about pay for the 215-70 & 295-50 BF TA's & that is a better use of my money than saving a few more pounds by getting draglites. Plus I used the 10% discount posted and saved $53..mucho thanks 68X426!

No, everything is standard , and plenty of room for springs. I sombody want a deep dish look, an 8" rim will not hack it!! IMO gotta go with 10´s to det it to look right with 295´s. :Twocents:

I agree. Think 255/60 will be a better choice for the tire. I pussed out and got the 8 inch rim to be safe.

I could have updated my last post but thought some may want to know what the Summit Quick 8 rims weight is. I put one of each (15X8 & 15X7) on the bathroom scale and got 19 & 18 lbs....but that's not exactly calibrated. They look GREAT and at just $103.5 average each after the 10% discount I can live with the extra girth. Also think I will go with the 255/60 & 215/70 BF TA combo instead of the larger 295/50. One bummer is they are made in china and have no DIA larger than 28 cast in back face.

I could have updated my last post but thought some may want to know what the Summit Quick 8 rims weight is. My box had 43lbs for the (2)15X8 and 41lbs for the (2)15.7,so 1 15x8 weighs 21.5 & 1 15x7 weighs 20.5lbs. I put one of each on the bathroom scale and got 19 & 18 lbs....but that's not exactly calibrated. They look GREAT and at just $103.5 average each after the 10% discount I can live with the extra girth. Also think I will go with the 255/60 & 215/70 BF TA combo instead of the larger 295/50. Please post pictures when you have them setup on your car. I too wanted to go with the bigger tire option in the rear but since they only offer 3.75bs with the wheel I want 255/60 seems like the biggest I can go without rubbing.

I weighed the Summit Quick 8 15X8 on the scale at work and got 17.5 lbs even. Didn't do the 15X7 but am exCRAPulating it is 1.5lbs less also. So the Summit Quick 8 in 15X7 weighs 16.5 lbs. The scale is calibrated and is certified for +/-1 ounce. I guess the box's from Summits were heavier than i thought as they had 43 & 41lbs on them. That or the UPS scales read a little heavy. I posted the full name to help if people do searches on this brand.
