Multi carb intakes, retro

Am just starting a 39 Dodge pickup rat.  have a 440 that will power it.  Seeing how it's going to be a retro, I'd love to have a 6x2 or 8x2 set-up with "Stromberg 97" EFIs. I know they made intakes like the one below.   I'm sure they are as rare as frog hairs.  What ya think?
Ok, here's a question.  In the second pic is a 6x2 log for a early Hemi.  I've seen many over the years, on rigs.  They usually have rubber tube runners between each of the three banks.  Any idea as to why?  Equalize the pressure from side to side?
