Comp list a xe284 , I did not see a 282. The specs on the 284 are 240/246 @ .050. It can be run with a auto but you will need a good 3000 converter.

 Here is the link. http://compcams.com/Technical/CurrentCatalog/HTML/46-55.asp

I tried to a copy and paste but that was blocked, rotten B's. States RPM range is 2500 to 6500 Rpms and soild mid and upper power range. Lose converter say 2500 and deep gears sounds like a good cam. Needs 10 to 1 by there specks.

Only thing I don't like is it being a soild cam. But as Ron pointed out I am a girly man. Other than that looks like a good Auto Cam. But what do I know, back in the learing curve again about the cams.

I did drive a 528 soild MP cam and it was kick ass. But it was with a 4 banger. Specks are close, but the XS 2825 is a split duration cam and that should give more mide range.

the xe282s is a great cam!     when i was looking at going to a solid lifter cam i asked porter racing heads about the 528, he told me it would be a nice cam but sugested the mp xe282s instead. i trust him ALOT so i went that way. my machinest felt very good about the cam as well.     the real selling point is the lash (and faster ramps) it is much quieter than the 528.   it idles much better than a 484 hydrolic cam, but thats a apples to oranges comparison.

its not the right cam for every application, so my advice would be to call porter racing heads.

:iagree: Dwayne Porter is very sharp when it comes to cams....he selected the grind for my application and has done numerous BB mopar builds. The recommendation i made for the Comp 282 solid for Vegas Mike's build was based on dyno results from a couple of engine's that he had done that were very similar. This grind is a winner with the right combination of parts. The dyno results on Vegas Mikes build tells the whole story and Mike's (Runner) track results speak for themself.
