stripping undercoating . whats the best way ?

what is best method to  strip undercoating , mainly on the inner fender , im doing the whole car but on the inner fender/underside i dont want to use anything that adds heat because the fenders are finnidhed paint .

You can always soak the undercoat with a solvent for a bit and scrape it off......heat of course works better, make sure plenty of ventilation, respirator....and of course sparks
work in small areas use lacquer thinner, mineral spirits.......even gasoline.....but try the least vaporous/flamable options first!

you'd have better chance removing this stuff efficiently with steam pressure washer or heat gun and scraper,you could sit there for days with a putty knife and no heat,and anything mechanical and abrasive will generate heat. kerosene will usually soften it up if you're still planning on scraping it without any heat source, you can also try paint stripper,it works in most cases,but gets very messy

ive heard something about using oven cleaner on it to loosen it up.

The easiest method, is recommended by a buddy who worked for Chrysler, buy a cheap NAPA spray bottle, pour some Kerosene in it and spray the areas with undercoat with it over a period of a few days, the stuff will virtually scrap off with a putty knife, then just wire wheel away the residue....

then toss the cheapo spray bottle in the trash, as you'll never get the kerosene out of it...
