The aftermarket voltage regualtors that look like the old point style ones, does anyone know if they can be sourced through a mainstream supplier such as NAPA or am I stuck with ordering one from an online vendor (which seem to be the only ones I see advertised)?

Do you mean 7805?  Because if that is the one you are referring to that's just the chip guys are using to make solid state instrument panel regulators.  I'm looking for the charging system ones that look externally identical to the old points style ones.

Oh. I'm sorry.  :brickwall: :eek2: I have one pn my car. The Wells # is VR somethineranuther. I am awaiting for a return call with this information. You can take the cover off the original and put it on the solid state one for an original look.
