We decided to go to a Mopar show in Kalispel Montana.  We left Spokane on Friday with two other mopars.  Al Merkel's beautiful Silver '69 R/T 4 speed, another friend with a '71 Challenger R/T and my yellow beast.  It's about a five hour drive with about half of it being on I-90.  We averaged around 70 to 75 most of the way Al's 4 speed dana car had no problem with highway speeds but Mike's Challenger was rather gear bound with 3.91's.  My 3.55/2.76 gear vendor set up was aching for more but I behaved myself for the most part.  Anyway, it was great having three classic 440 powered mopars dominating the highway and causing every body to crane their necks looking at us on the road.  The show was nice and they had some really great cars from Canada and all around the region.  The Challenger was the only one in our group that got a trophy (2nd in class).  The next morning I decided to take the northern, more scenic route back.  Being on my own, I allowed the car to enjoy the benefits of having the overdrive.  The traffic was very light, so we averaged around 80mph in the 70 mph limit areas and passing some cars by pushing it up to 100+ on a few occasions, letting the occupants of the overtaken vehicles hear the ultra flows at full song.  Some people just pulled over to let us pass when they saw the big old yellow beast rapidly growing larger in their rear view mirrors.  No tickets, no problems, just good old fun.  Sorry for the lack of pictures, but you guys can visualize all this pretty well, I'm sure.  Bob

So true!  Any time I start getting fed up with with all the time and expense dealing with these cars, I think of times like this and it's all worth it.   Bob

Sounds like a great ride. I only have one friend to cruise with and he has a GTO conv in the same color as my car so we get love from two types of car lovers.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

 ---I never thought of it like that.  That picture was taken as I was unloading the car at the drags a few years ago.  I only trailered it there because of the potential to break something.  But, your right, it's time for and update.  Bob
