texas toy box car dealer

Anybody have any experience with texas toy box. it seems that everything they have is way overpriced, but are they honest?  or are they like hlpag?
on a side note, i just pcs'd to bahrain, and the first night i was here, i saw a mint '70 RR.  i might try and rescue it and bring it back to the states next year.  i wonder if there are any other mopars in this area.

They seem to price their stuff high. Have no idea if they actually sell their cars on listed prices or not.
I am kinda layed back about prices, because as long as you see what you buy in person, or have a trusted guy to a look at it for you, you simply pay what it is worth to YOU!!! You could get a bargain, or many people will think you payed to much, but..........many of the people that says you have payed WAY to much bla-bla-bla, does not have a charger, since they don´t want to pay what it costs!!!!

These cars are moneypits, weather we like it or not!!!

Well, when I was buying I was warned by many to stay away from them (for several reasons).  But, in my case I got out of the frying pan and into the fire

I have seen many a car that look good in the pics but as with ANY car.  PERSONAL inspection is a must. Check the famous spots for rust or "repair."

I dont know that I would ever buy a car, with out some inspection, a trusted member or myself.

IMO, they are the better of the Mopar dealers. They aren't the greatest but better than Hlpag, M&M Classics and the rest. If I were to buy a car from them, I would definitley go look over it myself or get a member of the site to do it.

Good luck with going over there to look at it in person.  I live in San Antonio (a short drive away from Texas Toy Box) and asked the guy if I could go look at a black 68 charger he had for sale and he said no I even told him I had cash in hand.  He said he just likes to sell them on the internet (sight unseen)  then he quickly changed the subject to how everyone in texas should own chevies instead of mopars.  Wierd guy.   So I bought my Charger somewhere else.

Same experience here.  Way overpriced for rust-buckets with "fancy" paint jobs, and an attitude-to-match. 

On the bright side, I did snatch an RT out from under them.

I've heard several times that they do NOT want to do any business within their home state.  That speaks volumes.

I have to  concur.  I posted my experience with toybox about a year ago but I can't find it now.  I live in Round Rock, only 10 minutes from where he is. I called him about one of his cars and he was very helpful until I told him where I lived and wanted to come see one of his cars.  He changed his tune and told me I should buy a chevy.  He wouldn't let me come look at the car.  He's a snakeoil salesmen.  If he doesn't want anyone looking at his cars up close, what does that tell you?

I am in San Antonio too. A few years ago when looking for a Charger they were selling a yellow '69 for 12K. My wife and I drove up to look at it. I was told on the phone it was originally a yellow car. When I got there it was origianlly green then painted yellow. I asked about it and he said it was originally yellow, painted green, then yellow again....hahahaha....what a bunch of crap. The car had a lot of rust, a lot of missing parts and non matching drivetrain (adv with matching). This car was barely worth 1200 let alone 12K. Don't waste your time or you will be posting later how you got ripped off by Texas Toybox.

That is so weird.. When I was looking for a GL, they had one. It looked nice on their site, but I wanted to send my buddy over to look at it.. He lives in San Antonio, also. They told me they don't "make appointments to look at cars". ? I never answered another one of his emails, and he was persistent.

I know of two cars that were local to me that ended up there with an over double price of what it sold  here locally and then given a fluff and buff.

Well, I can't comment on whether they are good or bad. I know when i was looking to buy a 71 Charger I checked their website out regularly, and whilst they seemed to have a really big assortment of cars.

Trouble was when I asked them about the availability of 71's, from memory they basically told me they weren't interested in those types of cars. They didn't seem to consider them collectible. I was a little surprised.

I just looked on their website and they now have a showroom in Granger,TX.  Maybe the guy just didn't want a whole bunch of tire kickers walking around on his land where it looks like he was keeping the cars.  It also says he sells on consignment so someone might just get lucky with a good car.  But I would still BE VERY CAREFUL about doing business with this guy.

Cody............dont get me wrong, but arent you gloryfying beeing member here a little bit now? Not talking about ANY members or ANY of their cars AT ALL now, remember this includes me too   But..........it takes about a minute to sign up here, and for all we know, Osama Bin Laden could be member here

And about flipping that car................they are car dealers.............that is what they do for a living....every single one they have up for sale!!!

Bottom line is, regardless of who you are buying from........See it in person (or a guy you trust, member here or not),  and offer what it is worth to YOU!!! You might get it, you might not!!
