Hi.
I am trying again ;D , this time in the right category...

I was wondering if any of you have tryed to break in a newbuild engine in a engine cradle.
I´ve heard that you should not leave the engine for more than 5 days after you have build it ( Cam lubricant )
So i was thinking i could use some old headers and not risk my new ceramic coated tti´s.
Maybe something gets wrong and you don´t have to take the motor out of the car .
Any tips/tricks

i've never heard that about 5 days. i've had rebuilt engines sit around for months. just make sure you give it a real good priming before you fire it up. Rene

:iagree: Just prime it before you fire it up. If you have a dyno nearby it would be worthwhile to spend the $$ and break it in there and makes some pulls to dial in the fuel and ignition curves. Dyno tuning ensures everything is dialed in properly.

yeah - A customer brought an engine for his car in - built is 19 years ago and never ran it...    primed it and fed it gas - fired right up

prime it , turn it, prime it, turn it, prime it, and then give it fire !  thats a great feeling, when a plan comes together.  :drive:

I have fired them in a cradle . you have to make sure everything is right , enogh cooling & air flow with the rad close enough to the fan
leaving the engine sitting will not hurt it
