......sinse I do not know crap about 68 and earlier tags. A friend of mine found a 68 Satellite  with a 318 and 3 speed on the column. How rare is that combo. We are curious.

Heres the tag. It was kinda hard to read so I hope all these are correct.

12345678
  5    5  8    AX   H4X   RR1(or 'I')   UPS
                  2                                   B

RH23  41  1  71  B2C  127700

You're missing the top two lines. They look like the alphabet with numbers under some of the letters.

Hmmm, thx T, I will see if he can get those.

Read from bottom to top like the later models:
RH23 = Satellite
41 = 318 engine
1 = 3-speed manual column shift
71 = tire size but I don't know which ones
B2C = B20? November 20 build date
127700 =  Shipping Order Number

2 = 5 - drip rail mouldings
5 = 5 - body side mouldings
7 = 8 - wheel lip mouldings
A = 2 - 2.94 rear gear ratio
TRM = H4X - High (price model) black vinyl split bench seat
PNT = RR1 - Burgundy Metallic paint
U = B - Black upper door paint (matches interior)

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

1968 Tire Code 071 = 8.85 x 14" with black sidewalls
