My door was hangin real low and always was hard to shut. Kinda bounced back slight open so it would rattle unless I really slammed it.
So I rebuilt the hinges, aligned it and it looks great but it still bumps to not quite shut position, unless I slam it!
So I tried adjusting the striker pin. And as I was doing so i took it off to examine it. Notice the remains of what was once a rubber bushing inside. Could this cause the door to not like closing securely?

Yes. The bushing needs to be there to take up the slack when the latch closes over it.

I am currently looking at a similar issue could some one post a picture of this?

Thanks

I'll try to get one tomorrow. Now where the heck does one get that bushing and whats it called?

restoman

I've never been able to locate just the bushings. Used strikers are what I've always used. I think someone - maybe Year One or The Paddock perhaps - offer new strikers, but if I recall, they were fairly pricey.

I had to get the complete striker assembly too
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html
