Getting ready to set my motor in and decided it would be a good idea to change the tranny front pump seal while it's apart and am curious... Anyone have any great tips that make this a breeze?  I end up mangling them and after much carnage, they reluctantly come out.
Thanks!!

I use a hook type seal remover like the one in the link below.

When installing the new seal pack the inside around the garter spring with grease to keep it from popping off during the process of driving it in. After the seal is installed shine a light down the opening to double check that the spring hasn't come off.

A length of PVC tubing of the appropriate diameter and a hammer can be used to drive the seal in.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks John, thats the remover I used the last time and I couldn't get it out without tearing it up...maybe it was just stubborn.  Will definitely use the grease and PVC ideas, never thought of that!
Thanks again.
