The story goes that was actually a supplier to Dukes that provided those cars to KR.  (No, they hadn't been used as real GLs - yet.)  Warner Bros wasn't happy about the incident to say the least.

That car was a bit of an inside joke with the stunt co-ordinator of the show, who had been lured away from his job on DOH to run the stunt department at KR.  In the episode plotline, the Charger was converted to run on moonshine (look at the trunk) and it was driven by a pair of redneck characters called the Prince brothers.

Didn't realize there were so many jumps on that show.  They sure wrecked a lot of those cars.  And isn't Hasselhoff a cheeseball.   :eek2:

You know, if you look close enough on some of the (jumps), you can probably see matchbox on the bottom! How about the one jump where you could see straight through the top of the car from the bottom side.

I recognize a few of those places from Dukes episodes. Like the places at :28-:30, :40-:46 and 2:01-2:12. Some of you Dukes fans should be able to remember those places. I also noticed they used alot of the model car sets that the Dukes used and ideas (like driving through the forest fire). That Charger was definitley or was definitley going to be used on the Dukes...cheap orange paint and Vectors :yesnod:

I was just checking out stuff on the new Knight Rider and I saw this..."The series finale aired on March 4, 2009. On May 19, 2009, NBC announced that they would not renew Knight Rider for a second season". That sucks!!! I really enjoyed the show :'(

I can't figure out what was worse on his neck, the landings or physically turning around after every landing.  :icon_smile_wink:

In 1983 there was a shipment of Firebirds on a train that got derailed and they were damaged.  So the TV show cut a deal with Pontiac to buy them all.

You can tell because sometimes these cars show up in stunt footage without the T-top roofs.  That's a sure sign that the car wasn't originally built to send to Universal for KR duty.

Looks like they used the same jumps as DOH.  :smilielol:

KR actually did use the same miniature crew as DOH (and some other shows) did.  KR began using the miniature stunts pretty early in the series, in about late 1982.  DOH finally caved in to the temptation about 2 years later when it was already on its last legs.

The real stunts were done in some of the same locations as DOH too.  Hollywood uses the same locations all over the industry all the time.  (Downtown Hazzard square was built decades before DOH actually used it.  It's a longtime set they've had up for like 50 years.  The studio used it for several years more recently as the town in "Gilmore Girls.")

The last (of several) Duke Farmhouse sets was actually burned down in a fourth-season KR episode not very long after DOH was cancelled.  They were doing a show about tree logging and they used one of the DOH backwoods/dirt roads sites.  The Boars Nest also appeared (disguised) in that KR episode too.

Now I'm going to have to go back and watch all of the KR and DOH shows and start comparing locations.  Jeeze, it's not like I have anything else to do!!! :smilielol: :smilielol:

It looks like there's a Mr. Fusion on the back of the charger.
