OK. I need to hook a voltage gauge in my ride.

I thought about hooking up the volt gauge "hot" wire to the start relay. Reason for this is so the volt gauge would show the generator charge. Another practical reason is that the engine will from time to time see +7000 Rpm, so the belt driving the generator will most of the time "jump" of the pulley, even though the pulleys are lined up...

Any ways.. Am I thinking complicated or just making an issue of something that really is not an issue, so I could just as well just hook it up to any 12V wire in the dash wiring :scratchchin:

Hook it on a keyed source. Blue wire under the column, or accesories source.
