Can anybody please tell me where the engine number is stamped on a 383. I don't mean the casting numbers, I mean the number which is stamped into the block somewhere for legal reasons ?

I don't know what year the block is, but plan on checking casting numbers shortly.

Never mind guys.....found it.

Gee, they really should be a little more specific on the Yaer One website as to where you have to look.

Was it on a milled surface on the passenger's side of the block just above the oil pan?
