I wish this post just to confirm some numbers because they have been stated in several diff topics, but they are everywhere. better in one post Don't you think ?

then we have

1 mm milling job is aprox .03937" ( rounding to 0.04 ), so 1 mm would mean AROUND 9.5 cc less

what other numbers are required to be on right track and calculations ?

are all these numbers right ?

I understand that most stock blocks are taller than blueprint deck height, so if you mill stock heads and the deck height is still above blueprint, wouldn't the the intake line up better, depending, of course, on the amount you are taking from the heads?

on my built I will have to check for sure the deck height before any head job of course... Just wanted to post the numbers what are evrywhere on one only post

 :cheers: Just pondering the idea.  I have never known if those figures were for a blueprinted block or a general rule of thumb because if you deck a 'stock' block .020" and go from a steel shim to a .039" Felpro gasket you are essentially at the same place with the heads in relation to the intake.
