The '70 has been there for at least 3 years. It's an awesome car, but not sure why the owner thinks it's worth 100K.

Nice pics. I am dreaming of July already.  :yesnod:

The rents' had a Volare wagon with wood grain and hubcaps like the ones on that 70'. Gotta say, I just don't like them on that 70' though.  :rotz:

Wish I had the clams for either the blue or red 68.  :yesnod:

i really wanted to go down to carlisle this weekend but i an sick  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(

Old Moparz

I was there Friday & Saturday, & damn, it was hot. I should never get a haircut before a Carlisle weekend, the back of my neck got crispy.

Seems like a lot of vendors were packing it in by mid afternoon on Saturday. The best deal I scored was 48" long, wire shelving for spray paint cans & small items that hooks into peg board. This guy had a stack of them piled under his tent at $2.50 a piece. I'm going to cut them down to mount on the backside of some cabinet doors, & the rest will make great stocking stuffers at Christmas.  :D

Some car prices seemed like a deal & some were still in Barrett Jackson dreamworld. My friend was drooling over this '70 Chevelle SS with a 454, but at $70,000 or so, he wiped off his chin & we moved on.....lol

Just thought of something else I noticed at Carlisle. Did anyone else see the poor quality of ALL the give away cars for this year?

The Fury convertible for the Chrysler show had more waves in the sides of it than imaginable.

The Dune Buggy for the kit car show looked like trash & a hack job.

The Thunderbird for the Ford show had dents & dings all over.

I forget what the other cars on the stage were, but they were all junk. I know over the years that the desirability of what they give away has decreased because the prices have increased, but everything this year is in worse shape than anything else from the past. Don't get me wrong, I'd take a free car without a problem, but it would be sweet if Carlisle Productions would hunt for better cars.

I remember the first Summer Carlisle show back in the mid 80's where they gave away 3 cars in one day. One car went to spectators, one went to vendors, & one wnet to anyone that had a car entered in the corral or the show. The 3 cars they had back then were mint & extremely desriable, a "real" red & black Superbird, a "real" red Torino Talledega, & red Z/28 Camaro replica that was done nicely.

Nope, it was pretty crowded & I had my gray DC.com shirt on as well as a white hat with a vintage style Mopar patch on it. I think the spring show this year had more people & more junk than last year.

I get asked to go every year...  unfortunately... or more precisely, fortunately for me... Homie don't camp.   And my friends end up camping out in the back of a vehicle or whatever.

I get to hear the stories later on about how it rained all weekend or it was stinking hot or how about "well, we were drinking and then" stories.

I get my fill of swap meet at Englishtown (last week) or Rhinebeck (this coming weekend) that I don't need to go to Carlisle to look at chinese tool vendors and chevy parts.

The prices on some cars are coming down to "more" reasonable levels as should be expected....  and then there's people trying to sell 70's.  :smilielol:

JUNK!!  Bingo.

I guess next spring we'll have to set a date/time to have an IBC.

I think meeting up somewhere sounds like a good plan.   :2thumbs:

I'll probably be at the fall swap meet this year as well. I know there is hardly any Mopar stuff in the spring & fall since the Chrysler only show started, but a couple of my friends & I use the spring & fall meets to get together & relax. We never seem to have time to hang out & don't live close to each other anymore. I'm in Newburgh, NY, one friend with a '66 Chevelle is in Paramus, NJ. & the other guy with a '66 Impala moved to Monroe, VA.

We find a less expensive hotel outside of Carlisle for Friday & Saturday nights & spend more time & money on the room, food, & beer than parts. I actually don't care if there is any Mopar stuff, I just enjoy wandering aimlessly & helping to look for all the cheap Chebby things my friends score for their cars, like NOS quarter panels for $38.

I will be at the fall also. You going to the Chrysler event?
Seeing how cheap all the GM and Ford repops are almost makes me want to start another project :eek2:. Did you notice that almost all the Chebbies were SS's.  :smilielol:

Yes, I'll be at the Mopar show, I already have a room reserved too.

Yeah, lot's of SS cars, but I did notice that there are more people stating that they are clones/replicas/tributes or such in the description than ever before. There was a really nice Buick GS, white with black stripes, that was described as a "tribute" car. Looked like someone did a nice job.

I still joke all the time with my friends about availability & prices of parts.
