So I think I have got my electrical gremlins dealt with for the moment. I got the car to start today.  :2thumbs:

I need the timing to be 35/36 @ 3000RPM

So I have a few options...

MSD pro billet distributor
(1) Run 18 initial timing, use the large black bushing and use one heavy silver spring and one light silver spring to bring the 36 total timing in at 3000
(2) Get a custom bushing that will let me run 22 initial and 14 advance ----> http://4secondsflat.com/MSD%20Distributor%20Tuning.htm
(3) Just lockout the MSD at 35 degrees, which is what I have done, but i have heard this kills gas mileage and produces a lot of heat.

This car is for the street mostly. I can keep the timing locked out, just dont want some crazy issues or worse gas mileage than i already expect to get....

I saw this quote on speedtalk.com
"If you got a big racey cam with duration over 246@.050 and tight LSA (lots of overlap) and auto trans, and like quick throttle response, consistant idle without exhaust odour, clean spark plugs that stay clean
(don't "Load up") Power brakes that work, you can probabily benefit from locked timing."

My last two engines have ran fine with the timing locked out. With a combo like yours using a big cam with lots of overlap it won't hurt to run the distributor locked out and with the closed chamber E-heads I found best power at 35* on the dyno. No need to run anymore than that.  ;)

I say give it a try and see how it runs.  :yesnod:
