Last night, I did a friend a favor by driving out to the sticks to take a look at an old car on his behalf, a 1965 Beaumont SD, 327 fourspeed.
In the course of conversation with the owner, I told him of my affinity for old Mopars and asked him if he had any parts for my Charger, etc.
As it turns out he's a full-blown GM enthusiast, but his brother is equally overboard as a Mopar guy.
Right about then, I was given the grand tour of the back 40....and the ancient musclecar burial grounds.
Some of the cars:
1970 GTX 440 Sublime
1970 Roadrunner 383 sedan
1964 Sport Fury
1972 Roadrunner 440 Airgrabber
1970 T/A Challenger
1970 Challenger 383 fourspeed Sublime
1970 Charger 500 FK6
1970 Charger R/T U code
1970 Challenger FC7
1970 Trans Am
1970 Torino Cobra
1969 Firebird 400
1968 442 (x2)
1968 AMX 343
1969 Javelin
1966 Corvette 427
1972 Corvette 454
1965 GTO
1966 Satelitte convertible
1968 Charger QQ1
1966 Charger (x2)
Numerous E bodies....and dozens of other cars, lost in the tall grass

And on an engine stand in the garage, a complete 1969 (11. 18. 68) 426 Hemi. For $20,000.
I'd love to get it, but I feel that twenty G's is a touch high. Am I wrong?

I think so......... Unless you have an original hemi car in which you only paid $10,000 for and is missing an engine.  :icon_smile_big:

Yeah, that's where I should have took a look for the VIN above the pan rail. But forgot to. :brickwall:
I should also mention that the Hemi is stock bore and freshly rebuilt.

Are the cars complete or picked apart hulks? The Hemi is high priced unless you need a date coded one like mentioned earlier.

The cars interest me more, although, it doesn't sound like the guy is oblivious to what things are worth.

WOW that is a LIST... keep in touch with them for sure.  Maybe he was just hight to start on the engine.....?

I would love to see those cars, think he would let you take any pics?

I took all sorts of pictures, but you're right on both accounts. The cars are picked over somewhat (although the VIN tags are present on most, and the "soft" parts are removed and stored in a barn), and definitely the guy(s) know what the cars are worth. There's no freebies there.
I left the Mopar guy with my shopping list: a 26" radiator, the bulge panel for a fourspeed console, a tic-toc-tac, and of course the Hemi.
He'll be rummaging through the barn on my behalf.
I'll make an offer on the '68 Charger, as I could use it for the nuts and bolts I need for my '68 R/T restoration.
The '70 R/T should be pulled out of the weeds, and the '70 500 would be a good parts car for it.
I'll post some pictures tonight (i'm at work right now). :naughty:

You may already know but they make a repo hump cover for the 4 speed console out of plastic now.

They repo that too. Rather expensive but so are the originals unless you luck out like I did and find one on Ebay for $10 because the guy listed it wrong.  :D

I agree - especially since a person can buy a NEW 426 Hemi for $14,000.

He had the Sublime Challenger on Kijiji last year for $26K...testing the waters he said. Obviously, nobody bit.
Here's what's left of the T/A Challenger. I think the numbers were harvested and transferred. :Twocents:
