I was going to use Dupont Nason B/C . I priced Nason vs. chromasystem. What do you get foe the extra $. ?

jaak

Nason is Dupont's cheeper line. Most complaints I hear about it is it dont cover as well, may take a little more than the more expensive brand. I have been using Nason's primers, and used nason BC/CC on my engine bay. I like it so far.

Generally speaking, if you are doing a complete paint job you might as well save some money and go with the Nason BC. If doing a spot job, the Chromabase is much better for blending and color match.

For the extra money, its like comparing a Hemi Charger to a slant six Dart. Both will get the job done, but the Hemi C will do it much better. :)
Truthfully, both will do what you want. The Chroma will cover better, be easier to use and possibly lay down flatter. The Clear is about the best you can get.
BUT, for the extra money you'll spend, the Nason will be a better deal.
The lower line systems were originally intended for the do-it-yourself or budget conscious crowd. Top shelf systems are production oriented.

I tell my customers this:
Top line paint systems are designed to take all the abuse of a daily driver and still look great after a couple years.
For the cars we own, that are pampered, kept inside, kept clean, not exposed to temperature extremes and all the other crap a daily driver has to put up with, a lower line of paint will stand up just fine.

Of course, bragging rights can go to the expensive paint system. :)

It all depends on how much your money your going to save. I like the Du Pont better then the Nasson line simply because it covers better and the Du pont line has never coverd as well as PPG. Generally speaking lets say it takes a gallon to spray your car with the Nasson, if you use the more expensive paint chances are you will have some left over from that same gallon for touch ups latter or repares. I always like the idea to have some left over that will match with the origanal paint job. If the cheaper paint will last by takeing care of it, the better paint will last even longer. With all the money you've spent on the car this far whats a few more dollors on the paint?
