What Would You Ask?

In ON, when purchasing a used car, in my case it was a '69 Charger, you must provide the VIN and pay the Ministry of Transportation $20.00 for the "used car information package".  This paperwork provides the name of the previous owners of the car as well as the town they live in.  I can easily come up with phone numbers, my question to you folks:

If you could speak with the previous owners of your car on the telephone, what would you ask them?

Of course I have dealt with the fellow I bought the car from, but I know there is much more about the car that I would like to know.  My first call wold be to the guy he bought it from in 1997.  I would then work my way backwards.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Shakey

I would ask about major repairs or changes that had been made, and then any good stories to go with the car

How did that razor blade and mirror end up between the cowl and front fender?

"Please tell me anything you know about the history of the Charger", oh and  "What are all those DNA stains in the car seats, carpet and roof liner?" :icon_smile_shock:

what about the panties that were stuffed in the back seat?

Ghoste

Oh, c'mon.  Those last two are standard Charger things.  Not from the factory of course, but almost from day one.

I would only ask whos panties if I got the wife on the phone....  That may cause a TIFF,

I would want to know anything about the car.  I think anything like who did you buy the car from, stories, paper work.

OLD photos of the car.  get copies if you can...etc,

Different cars would need different questions, but old photos of any of them would be the greatest. For the '68 Charger I'd ask what the hell did you do to get the rear, passenger frame rail, floor & package shelf so bent up?   :o   For the Barracuda, I'd like to know if they got a discount when they bought it for such a hideous color, Tawny Gold.     ::)

Do you have my fender tag?   Just how bad was this thing wrecked?   I see some repairs just curious as to how bad it was.

I'm kinda afraid to ask in case they want the car back though.

Yea but a used car salesman cant even give you the name of the previous owner of a vehicle, to see what the car has been through. It doesnt make sense to me ???

I have contacted previous owners of my cars. I ask about the things they did to it, what they remember changing, accidents, cool stories and I always ask for old pics. Never received any pics though.

I was in constant contact with the guy who had my '69 from 1986 to 2003. His wife made him sell the car and a kid had it a few months between us. As the car was improving he regretted selling it more and more. After the paint job and new body parts I sent him pics and now he is ignoring me totally.

Well shakey, it matter on what about the car you want to know.  I would have like to know which AZZ clown took all of the # stuff out of the 69 440 mag 4 spd, and dana. ?

The purpose of the stupid mirrors they had on when I bought it, the AZZ clown who cut a hole in the hood and then pop rivited a cover on it....

I dont think It would be good I would be getting pissed if I know someone did that stuff.... Power to you

AGAIN, to me it matters what is going on with your particular car.

ASk about any major repairs they did to the car if any when they had it. If your missing any parts to the car see if they still have them. I was missing the radiator to my last charger, and after tracing the ownership I located the radiator from the car. It needed recored, but was the right one, and I got it for free.

Tom_440

Good advice above.

Me? I'd hit him and then ask how many branches he hit when he fell out of the "stupid" tree.
