I guess those guys serve at least one purpose in the gym - entertainment. Dont foget about the guys who grunt and yell on every every rep, every set whether it is heavy or not. I think I make some sounds on really heavy sets of some things, but these dudes can be heard all over the gym and they arent even lifting anything!!!! I did see a pretty big dude the other day at the gym wearing a T-Shirt that said "I see small people" spoofing the Sixth Sense. That was pretty damn funny!!!!! Hopefully he didnt see me!!!!

I love it! I walk by those guys and say "Was it a boy or a girl??". Some get it, some don't.. I've pushed up some major weight in my days and NEVER have I had to make sound like the gym floor was a maternity room.

Reminds me of something else crazy I saw in a gym years ago. This older guy, probably in his late 50's, short and somewhat thick, although out of shape, was a powerlifting trainer. I would always see him training teenage boys and early to mid 20's girls. It was almost always bench press he was training them on. He would have them put on the bench shirt, which would take like 10 minutes and 2 other people to help, then the crazy thing.....He would have them eat BBQ sandwiches BETWEEN sets!!!!! I thought that was the craziest thing.

There is quite an array of entertaining folks at the gym.  A few of my favorites are:

The guys who work out wearing collared shirts and/or 59fifty baseball caps
People who run as fast as they can while holding on to the handles of the treadmill
People who crank the inlcine on the treadmill up to about 10, hold on to the handles & walk, thereby eliminating the purpose of the incline
People who walk on the treadmills at about 2.5 mph for long periods of time, especially the skinnier people who do this
People who sit on the machines, doing nothing but talking on their cell phones
Groups of people who decide to have social hour around one machine for 30 mins, none of whom actually work out during this time

Actually, now that I think about it, most of those aren't entertaining at all, they're actually quite irritating!
