Well, just read an article on nascar.. Some Dodge driver's prefer the Intrepid over the Charger.. Charger just can't get a break..

Funny, I always thought the Charger was just a redesigned Intrepid.  :-\

Slow and ugly....................Who would have thought! ::)

It seems ironic that Dodge had the same problem years ago with the Charger being slower & less aerodynamic. Wasn't that the reason they built the 500 & then the Daytona?  ::)

The new Charger is built upon an entirely different platform from the Intrepid. That's why the Charger concept that everyone loved wasn't used (the concept was on the Intrepid platform).

I agree that Charger just can't get a break. The stock version (nothing about the NASCAR version is stock) is a heck of a car, even if it has "two extra doors."
Sixty-eights look great and the '69 is fine.
But before the General Lee there was me - Headrope.

Didn't we just go "round and round" on this a week ago?.. nascar died in '71.   Period.  :icon_smile_angry:

Nascar died in 83 after the "Real" Ma Mopar pulled out.

Dodge cancelled their 4-door family sedan (Intrepid) and made another 4-door family sedan (Charger).
The platform may be different but when you stand back and look at it - it's just the Intrepid with a fancy name tag.

I say it's a nice car and the new platform suits it well - but they should have left it with the "Intrepid" name tag and saved the "Charger" for something with a bit more bite to it.

Well, from what I've heard is the Charger has "too" good down force and sort of causes an out-of-balance situation... Seems it pushes down more than the rear does and the Intrepid is supposed to be that... Well, from the looks of the race, things aren't as they appear in realtime racing......

Big Lebowski

The Fox guys talked about the Charger problems several times, but Kayne with the Suckerfish grille finished ahead of the Intrepids. :shruggy:
"Let me explain something to you, um i am not Mr. Lebowski, you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the dude, so that's what you call me. That or his dudeness, or duder, or you know, el duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing."

Those Itrepids don't look like any Intrepids I've ever seen..............and I drive 2000 Trep daily. Looks more like a Stratus nose to me.

Looks like the Fords ran pretty good............wonder how long it'll be before GM starts crying to get them slowed down. ::)

What the hell does nascar car what you call it!  Oh yeah, they're the same stupid bunch that won't let Chrysler run a HEMI on the track even tho they are being made EVERYDAY and on the road!

Troy

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.
