What was the original color of the factory tie down brackets that were bolted to the rear frame rails just behind the rear axle?  Also, what color were the bolts for these backets?  We are restoring a 70 chally convertible if it makes a difference.

Thanks,

Brian

I will tell you if you promise not to powdercoat them!   ;D

Bare metal brackets.

Bolts - Zinc Phosphate plated.

Many times the tie-down brackets had undercoat over-spray on them ....The bottom and sides of the gas tank were hit pretty good too - even on non-undercoat cars.

I have 3 unrestored '70 Challengers - including a 'vert so if you need anything else let me know.

Wow, thanks!  Actually what we really need is a passenger side headlight bucket since the company that was supposed to restore it totally f'd it up.  If you know of anyone that has one in good show worthy condition.....

Sorry - but I can't help you on parts. Actually I meant if you need any more questions answered or if you wanted me to go look at my stuff on things you weren't sure of I am happy to do it. Did you mean the headlight bezel that goes around the headlights? They have gotten very pricey.

Ah ok.  I figured you were just talking challys in general but was hoping you had some parts too.  Yes I am talking about that part.  Really  :flame: :RantExplode: about what they did.  I am awaiting to hear what they will do for us.  Almost looks like they sanded the parts down and then polished them instead of annodizing like they said they would.  If they don't make it right, be sure to keep an eye out for a nasty gram posting about them on here.

Brian, I'll get ahold of my friend and see if he has a headlight bucket for you. I'll let you know as soon as I can.  :2thumbs:

Thanks Jackie!     With the amount of pitting the pass side has, I think they will have to grind it down or something and who knows how thin they will be if they end up doing that.  All I know is that when they left, there was ZERO pitting in it and had no tears in them that were repaired.
