I have been scratching my head for awhile...... what does it mean when I have coolent coming out of my overflow hose and I do not have my radiator over full? Could it be a something else going on? I don't have A/C in the car and I have the Heater Coil bye passed.

Then it's likely just excess coming out of there when things have warmed up.  Sometimes the rad can be "fuller" than you think and when the hot coolant expands... some leaves.

Well i just don't want my 440 to Blow

Where is the Cheapest and best place to buy a new radiator for my 1969 Dodge Charger? I was looking at summit racing. Is there any other place?

terrible one

When you say that the car isn't overheating, are you sure? Does your temp gauge work/ is it accurate?

As the others have suggested, coolant will boil out or overflow if there is too much in there, or if you're overheating and boiling your coolant.

If you had overflow coming out right after topping off the cooling system, etc. I would say that's normal. However, if it does it every time you get the car warmed up, etc. it's probably overheating. If the radiator is the original and you haven't had it re-cored or cleaned, assume that no one else has either; it probably needs it, along with a good flush of the block while you have it out.

Make sure when you fill it you don't fill it to the top.The top tank is called an expansion tank for a reason. Just fill it to the top of the cooling tubes and make sure all the air is out of the system and you shouldn't have a problem.

Have you checked the cap itself? Maybe the rubber seal is bad, But it is still a good idea to have the radiator cleaned.

I would also check the thermostat before pulling the rad.  :Twocents:

If it does not overheat, a good 16lb cap and coolant level at least 1 1/2" below the radiator opening should fix your problem.

Welcome to the time honored tradition of a Mopar pissing out the rad overflow. It will stop it when it is "happy" with the level. If it doesn't try some of the stuff above.

The temp gauge does not work so i am not sure. How hard is it to install a aftermarket one?

Cheap and easy and good insurance besides.
