Some of you Mid-Atlantic guys might remember the 75/80 Dragway.  It closed down in October of 2005.  Well, its re-opening in April this year!  I have many memories of this dragstrip, especially many awesome Friday night drags there.  Just wanted to let you guys know.  Enjoy!

I'll likely never see it but it sure is good to hear about a dragstrip reopening for a change.

I would have thought it would have been townhouses or McMansions by now. I hope someone new will be running it.

As far as I know what happened was that the land was sold to a developer and when soil samples were taken the state said that they couldn't break ground for at least 15-20 years. So, the developer not wanting to sit on that property that long resold the strip to a new owner....

See what all those years of burnt rubber and smoke can do!  It can save a dragstrip!   :2thumbs:

I have two trophies from 75/80 Raceway that my Father won in street class in his 68 hemi Charger back in 1968. I look forward to running my Charger on the same track!

I won the spring street car shootout there back in either '96 or '98. I've honestly forgotten. I'll have to find the slide and see what the developing date stamped on it is.

Spring '98 Street Car Races (Upon further review, I believe this is actually 1997. The developing date is May '98, but my Christmas '97 photos fall between these and ones I know I took in the spring of '98.)

Summer '92 Street Car Races. Still running the original ugly brown paint.

Spring '92 MoPar Day. Bought this little Charger new and still have it.

This was taken at the '92 Mopar day. Does it belong to anybody here?

Another from '92

1990 Mopar show. I think I've seen this car once since then. Anybody here know it?
