I needed a pattern of the blackout area for a 71 Charger bulge hood, so I borrowed my friends hood for the day that had the blackout on it. well I didn't realize till after the hood was painted that the blackout was not for a 71 it was for a later year  :brickwall:. So now should I change the hood or roll with it  :icon_smile_question: here is a pic of the hood now.

Unless you are a Mopar purist, I would go with it.  I think the hood looks great!

I'm not one of them, haven't seen the Hood in person yet but yes it looks great, but I don't know yet what I am doing yet just sleep on it for now.

anyway is wrong everywhere... hood is 73, so being 73 should it be matte black painted, not gloss, for 73 should have cut outs for the engine emblem call out... if we forgett the fact is a 73 hood assuming like is a 71, then should it be just on top and a matte ( or semigloss ) decal, never under the clear coat ( on both cases )... And if was a 71, should have the bee or R/T insert, or rammed hood ( there wasn't simply basic bulged hoods on 71 )

:hah: :hah: :hah: :hah: :hah: :hah:

those are the details a purist will acclaim on the hood ( wait!!!! does that mean I'm a MF purist ? LOL )

JUST MESSING WITH YOU, LOL...

is at your own choice buddy... everything depends on you. I think does look really nice. Not my personal taste, but still looks nice and a good job

My hood bulge was done with no pattern by my painter, in gloss red on my black hood, so you can guess I'm not a purist! :D  I say keep it, it looks awesome.
