How far down should the steering coupler fit over the steering box output shaft? Should the coupler slip all the way down until it bottoms out and butts up with the steering box?

Anybody have a pic of just how far? I am working on my 70 Charger RT.

Far enough to get the roll pin in...there might be a gap at the end...roll pin goes through the cut out portion of the gearbox stub shaft

I had to put a metal punch thru the hole and wiggle the collar down far enough to install the roll pin. I just looked at mine and the end of the bottom spline is even with the end of the coupler. By the way, which steering box did you end up getting?

Yep I thought it goes in where the cut-out part is of the steering spline shaft. I will try wiggling it down some more. I purchased the Stage 3 Firm Feel box and some 1.06 Torsion Bars.
