This is what you get paying top rate at LMC.  I would expect this from a local bodyshop.

hello Big ZaZa   :scratchchin:  inside a rear quarter  :scratchchin: :popcrn:

i thought it was the outside.

What is it we are looking at ?

terrible one

Looks like an inside shot of the rear quarter where they overlapped it instead of buttwelding it.

BIG ZAZA

Yes inside rear quarters then they were filled with bondo to hide and undercoat then paint. The outside of the car was covered in bondo up to a half of an inch thick in some places. This car now has NOS rear quarters.

I do not want to make this a big thing but all I am going to say is pictures never tell the true story.

When someone builds a car to go custom there is no wrong.

When a car is going to be RESTORED BACK TO ORIGINAL lots can be done wrong and the person spending the money normally has no clue. That was the case with this car.

Here is a question how many restoration shops have you guys seen that have the equipment to correctly check and straighten the frames of cars? (And a 4x4 and a sledge do not count) :scratchchin:

thats true  ZAZA , custom your not trying to duplicate how something was build originaly ... :yesnod:

To have the frame shecked and pulled where it needs to be, is IMO the first thing that needs to be done, before restoration starts. Does´nt help a freak´n bit to have new fresh sheetmetal, putted on nice, if the framerails/ car is not straight. Also the gaps will be a bitch to get right. :Twocents:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

69_500

I believe they were also the shop that did work on the nice Green HEMI 500 that was sold last year at the BJ auction.

I'd like to put NOS 1/4's on all my resto's but many customers will say on one hand I got $5,000 each NOS 1/4's & on the other hand $200 each Sherman 1/4's. I say your choice. What do you want. What do you think they Pick. LEON.

gers1968rt

Thanks to the Shelby Shop, I learned how to do bodywork. I had them sandblast my rt and make some sheetmetal patches (which weren't high quality) back in 89 or 90. I had to take it home because I couldn't afford them. Peter made me feel as if my car wasn't good enough for a high end restoration. You could tell he really only liked mustangs.
I used to own a mopar because it was different, but now I know better.

On a rare car NOS is the ONLY way to go when it comes to quarters. The second most important thing is finding someone who really knows how to align the doors, trunk valance etc. before puting them on! If you can't afford them save until you can. I know of a shop (wonder who) that put quarters on a very rare and valuable convertible and guess what, the valance was 3 inches short  :o :o :o :o :o  How do you fix that?  :buff: :hack: :coocoo: :smash:
