I was looking at a copy of the latest Muscle Car Review and saw the pic of the 71 R/T with the color matched bumpers. Was this an option or standard with 71 R/T's? I think the color in the pic is sweet lookin and am thinking of doing my 72 simliar to this. Any opinions on doing the color match bumpers on a 72? It's a standard 318 w/air, 904, etc. nothing special. Just wondering what some would think. Thanks.

It was an option on any 71 Charger, it came with the R/T style taillights (same as rallye tailights in 72). So if you wanted the tailights, but did not want a R/T, you had to buy the color bumpers.

Interesting, thanks d72hemi. I was just curious. I thought maybe it'd be kinda cool to make mine with painted bumpers. maybe I oughta photo shop it huh?

One more bit of info - the colored bumper option was not availible with concealed headlamps & was only offered in 6 colors.
