Hey guys, brand new to the site. I am in the process of replacing my old under dash harness and discovered that a previous owner appears to have powered all my console lights by adding them into the dome light circuit. The problem is I have no idea where these wires are supposed to lead so I can get rid of the old harness and still keep them working. I have looked all through my 69 service manual and Chilton's and can't find any references to console wiring. Am I stupid and just over looking something? Thanks for the help!

These 2 pics are of the full wiring for the center consol, i found them on e-bay. I'm missing all my consol wiring & cant believe they dont repo it as the prices they sell for are stupidly high.

I also have a question in regards to this,

What part of the dash harness do you hook the console wiring to??

The consol wiring from the consol runs from the consol under the carpet near the drivers seat to the rocker pannel up to the emergency brake behind the kick pannel. The dome light is feed from there too and the door light switch

Where do the ends for the console harness get wired into?  it looks like the fus box but where on the fuse box?

can any one help me out i marked the picture of the connections im talking about.  i believe the dome light and door switches are wired into this as well.   :brickwall:

I believe I can help! I've fabricated and installed console wiring in two different 68-70 b-bodies that didn't come with consoles.

At the console you should have a wiring harness that has three lamps and a connection for the back up switch. This harness has a 6 pin male connector. The six pins terminate as follows:

The shifter light has an orange wire (E2-180, where the 0 stands for orange) and a black wire. This orange wire terminates at the fuse box on the output side of the instrument feed fuse. The black wire runs to chassis ground after passing through the 6 pin male harness connector. The lug to be screwed to the floor pan is actually part of the long console cable that runs back to a connector near the emergency brake.

The console courtesy lamps have yellow (M2-18Y) and pink (M1-18P) wires running to then. The pink wire terminates on the fuse box on the output side of the dome light feed fuse. The yellow wire is spliced into the yellow door switch wire near the emergency brake.

The wires running to the back up lamp switch are violet (B2-18V) and violet with a white tracer (B1-18V*). The violet wire can be tapped into the violet wire in the body wiring harness. This can be done fairly easily where the body cable connects to the dash harness near the emergency brake. The violet with a white tracer (B1 18V*) connect in the dash harness at the radio connection to a red wire (X12-18R*) which terminates at the fuse box on the output side of the radio and back up light fuse. This is the first fuse. You can run your violet wire directly to the fuse if you choose.

In my 68 Coronet service manual console wiring schematics are located on page 8-105, as Figure 8.
