Well - I have a rather dumb question (we all cant know it all right?)    I have access to a complete A/C system from a Newport 440 engine...     My question is will all the brackets and pulleys simply bolt on to a 383 ?  Or are they different somehow ? do ANY of the parts interchange/fit ?

The compressor brackets are differant, due to the deck height diff. between the RB and BB.

The year of the two makes a difference, if the main compressor bracket is the one-piece cast type that bolts to the intake manifold it can't be used but if the main bracket is the stamped type that bolts to the water pump housing it and the pulleys might work but the comprerssor stabilizing brackets won't swap between the B and RB.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
