I have a 1968 doge charger with its factory 318, runs perfectly with little miles. Here is where my question is, i believe the stock 318 in 1968 put out 235hp, i added a 550cfm Edelbrock carb with the aluminum 318 high rise manifold and some hooker competition headers. I havent added the cam yet but im hoping i can break 300hp  :icon_smile_big: . Do you guys have any suggestions for a good cam?  :scratchchin: Kind of new to this stuff. How much power do you think i can gain without a different cam but with my current modifications? Any guess would be great, probably comforting too i hope

Mopar Muscle Magazine did a 318 buildup that hit 300hp I think. Look on their website, I am sure all the specs are there. :2thumbs: Good luck.

The headers and 4bbl should be worth 30-40 hp as long as the engine is mechanically sound. A cam will help but it needs to be properly matched to the rest of the engine/car. Compression ratio/rear end gearing/stall speed etc...are all considerations.
